I started a joke

You know how sometimes you think of something that sounds really funny to you, so you start doing it, and pretty soon you realize no one else is paying attention? That’s this blog. Actually, exactly one person regularly looks: Hi, Mom!

Part of the problem with the joke is that it requires people to look in two different places for the same picture with different captions. I should have split screened them. Ah, well. Live and learn.

My family has a method for dealing with jokes that are told but not laughed at: we repeat them, but slower and louder to make sure everyone really has a chance to understand and appreciate them. However, I have decided instead to call off the blogs and continue to post the pictures on flickr. Pictures still get taken and posted, and I don’t get unreasonably annoyed that no one is looking at what I’m doing.

So, go look at pictures, would ya?

March 27 – Catastrophe on Lankershim

This man’s home was destroyed by pre-destruction-of-the-world destruction. Now he lives on the street, pretending the window to the inside is a window to the outside. He can take cold comfort in the knowledge that we all we be obliterated.

March 26

March 25 – Eclipsed

As the Earth dies and light fades, scientists construct massive artificial suns to try and stave off the inevitable. Good luck with that, scientists!

March 24 – Unfocused

No special lens will let you see a way to survive!

March 23 – Return to sender

People are hiding from the mail. Why worry about communication when the world is about to be destroyed?

March 22 – “Safe”

Local looters are leaving behind money and taking the only things with any real value at the end of the world: pies.

March 21 – As if this will help

You can’t have a cautions apocalypse! I used no caution around this because I am going to live every second this planet has left exactly how I want! So what if I broke my leg? I WANTED THE FREE PLASTER FOR MY SURVIVAL HUT!

March 20 – Vanity

Even if your opinions ever mattered before, they do not matter now. They are overshadowed by the unbiased fact that the world is ending.

March 19 – The end of advertising, part 2

Advertisements are being allowed to break down and return to their natural, non-commercial state.
